Overview of IT Services

Rural hospitals are increasingly using health information technologies and advanced applications to improve the delivery of healthcare and health outcomes. With growing demands for the adoption and implementation of meaningful, qualified electronic health records (EHR) and health information exchanges for providing the best possible care, what does this mean for rural and community hospitals? Our IT services are offered in tiers to meet your various needs. Foundation Members automatically recieve all the benefits and support in Tier 1 (Essential Connectivity Support).

Tier 1 - Foundation Member Benefits
Essential Connectivity Services

Foundation Members enjoy the all of the folllowing support and services:

  • T-1 support/management and remote provisioning, including bandwidth use monitoring, support and management on a 24/7 basis
  • Connectivity assurance through hardware and software support, monitoring and troubleshooting on a 24/7 basis
  • Firewall and router access configuration and management on a 24/7 basis
  • Secured client VPN remote access and support for three secured LAN-to-LAN VPN connections to vendors for business-to-business transactions
  • E-mail access, hosting and support, including new accounts setup, basic anti-spam and anti-virus filtering and updates and troubleshooting
  • Access to experienced IT staff for expert advice and general IT consulting and technical/research assistance
  • Public Health Information Network (PHIN) access, support and training
  • Web site hosting (one basic)
  • Helpdesk support for network connectivity on a 24/7 basis

Tier 2 - Advanced IT Services
(Includes All Benefits in Tier 1)

  • Work station security and operating system assurance and service, including software and hardware support
  • Real-time diagnostic logging, monitoring and alerting; hardware failure prediction
  • Advanced encrypted email hosting, including full Microsoft exchange functionality, Windows & Blackberry support, Outlook Web Access, and large storage limits (up to 1 GB)
  • Enterprise anti-virus & spyware licensing management and content-filtering services
  • 24/7 support for email and vendor/ remote site connectivity
  • Secure Web site hosting, including intrusion detection
  • Video, Web-conferencing, Web-casting access and support; and production/posting of distance or in-house education (on demand)
  • Product consulting & procurement

Customerized IT Services
(Separate Fee for Each Service)

  • Local Area Network (LAN) management, support and troubleshooting (includes 3 onsite visits)
  • Custom program/software/application development
  • Hospital network configuration and planning (onsite)
  • Systems implementation, upgrades, conversions, interfaces and integration
  • IT/network security audits and risk assessments
  • IT strategic and operational planning and consultation
  • Disaster recovery services and consulting, including assistance in developing DR plan, storage and automated replication
  • Redundancy hosting and support for EMR and other application/systems
  • Other managed services and special projects
